Campuses in Trondheim and Ålesund closed from Wednsday evening and until 8 am Thursday

Campuses in Ålesund and Trondheim will be closed for events between 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening and 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning due to extreme weather. This is because the extreme weather “Ingunn” is expected to be at its most intense during this period.

No further measures are currently being implemented in Ålesund and Trondheim as a result of the extreme weather. Teaching will proceed as normal from Thursday morning in Ålesund. Digital teaching is still an option, and this is decided by each individual lecturer.

In addition, working from home is allowed on Thursday for those who have the opportunity.

The decision was made based on what was known about the development of the extreme weather at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and in relation to the advice and decisions made by Trondheim municipality and Ålesund municipality.

The central emergency management at NTNU emphasizes, however, that the weather situation can change rapidly, and that changes can be decided at short notice. A new update will be provided if the situation changes, and no later than Thursday morning.
